The mission of Partners Mentoring Youth is to create and support one- to- one mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth facing challenges in their personal, social and academic lives. How We Encourage Progress. By matching youth (Junior Partners) with adult mentors (Senior Partners), the youth have someone to provide additional support; to be a positive role model and a friend. Combined with supportive and fun group activities, Life Skill training and community service opportunities provide long- term benefits to the youth we serve. How We Measure Results. Partners uses the Partners Mentoring Services Effectiveness Index (PMSEI), a science- based outcome measurement tool, to evaluate the impact mentorships have on our youth. These evaluation efforts consistently show that upon completion of one year in the Partners program, youth show: Increased self- esteem and self- confidence. Attitude less accepting of violence. Lower rates of individual delinquency. Decreased intent to use drugs. Decrease acceptance of others’ substance abuse. Increase attachment to adults who are not parents or relatives. Increase ability to plan for the future To find out how you can get involved, click here!
